Djodjo, a young adventurer, is looking for new experiences beyond his homeland. Calua, his mother, used to be his advisor, but doesn’t seem to support him this time. Without support, he turns to his friends Pingo and Tarta, but also faces resistance. Despite this, he continues to dream of a mysterious island rising on the horizon and believes that one day he will build a bridge to get there. The question is whether his determination will be enough to achieve his goals or whether something more will be needed.

The story takes place in 1988, during the Civil War in Mozambique between the Popular Forces for the Liberation of Mozambique (FPLM) and Renamo. During a confrontation, an FPLM group chases Renamo guerrillas, resulting in an intense battle. A wounded guerrilla and an unarmed FPLM soldier clash on the battlefield. During this encounter, hidden secrets are revealed.

In May 2022, Rajesh, a journalist, sociologist and ex-military officer, grandson of a former fighter in Mozambique’s National Liberation Struggle and son of a General, mysteriously disappears in a military camp after an attack by insurgents in Cabo Delgado. What he doesn’t know is that Wanga, his beloved, is pregnant with twins. The story unravels a romance that confronts racial and social prejudices, placing moral integrity and ethics above all judgment.

The natural wealth of a place is not always synonymous with stability for the people. Abraão lives in a fishing village in Palma, and one day he goes out to sea with his father. As the boat moves through the waves, he learns of the changes that are coming with the big gas and oil projects. For Abraão, everything is new and a future full of opportunities seems to lie ahead. Over time, abuses and acts of corruption begin to affect the life of the community. A wave of riots and demonstrations arise and the authorities cannot leave them unanswered. Maputo, 2069. The city goes through a wave of crime, in which the victims see their vitality separated from their bodies. Bonga, a young healer and gadget maker, lives constantly accused of being the energy sucker because he has different colored eyes. While trying to save a child, the brothers attract the attention of Mambo Zulu, a powerful villain with a sinister past.

Paíto, Maninha and Zita live in this old building and, although they live in different apartments, they share the same dilemmas and frustrations. Together they decide to start a ‘building newspaper’ where they denounce the fact that the elevator has been broken for years, which triggers a series of discussions among the neighbors. There are those who want to contribute, there are those who don’t think they need to, and there are still those who refrain from making any comment, and the residents’ committee is forced to take a position.
